Description du contenu de l'enseignement

The aim of this teaching is to provide more specific description of neurogenetic and Neurodegenerative Diseases already presented in UE Mechanisms of Neurodegeneration and studied in the ITI NeuroStra research laboratories.
Specifically, this cours will focus on genetic and non genetic risks factors, specific pathophysiological hallmarks, and specific molecular bases of neuodegenerative diseases.
Objective 1 : Acquire state of the art knowledge of the role of genetic and non genetic factors in specific neurodegenerative diseases
Objective 2: illustrate the utility of combining multiple complementary experimental approaches to deepen understanding of the mechanisms of neurodegeneration
Objective 3: Enable critical reading of the literature by students to understand benefits and limits of most recent research in the field.

Compétences à acquérir

1/ Deepen knowledge of pathophysiological aspects of the different neurodegenerative diseases studied in NeuroStra research laboratories.
2/ Being able to integrate multiple levels of experimental approaches in understanding neurodegeneration mechanisms.
3/ Being able to critically review and synthesize specific research questions in neurodegenerative diseases.
