Compétences à acquérir

- know what is a polymer, what is a resin
- know the main properties of polymers (glass transition temperature, melting temperature, …)
- Understand thermal properties of polymers
- identify various commodity polymers (deformulation)
- understand radical polymerization and step polymerization and their differences
- understand the influence of molecular structure on macroscopic properties (relationship structure-properties)
- select resins according to their initial features in order to target specific properties of final thermosetting materials
- understand influence of ingredients on the properties of a formulation (plasticizers, thickeners, …)
